Constraint or Bimanual Therapy

Ideal for children with hemiparesis who use only one arm.

Constraint Therapy

If your child mainly uses one arm, he may benefit from constraint therapy where a sling or cast gives the strong arm a "vacation."  Your child can participate in a summer camp of activities with other children or in individual sessions to improve the use of the weaker arm.

Bimanual Therapy

Some children who exclusively use one arm may benefit more from structured therapy with activities that require the use of two hands.  This has been shown to be effective in improving use of the weaker hand in functional tasks.
